6/19/2026 Rock River Drift

6/19/2026 Rock River Drift – The river dropped another foot or so and cleaned up some. I am hearing a lot of songbirds, but they are hidden most of the time. With fast current I am drifting down really fast and can’t stop. So everything happens quickly. I am not seeing much for wildlife, the waterfowl chick numbers appear way down and there just isn’t many geese or ducks around.

After seeing how lowering my exposure I get a lot more sharpness I went out with plans to start trying to see how many turn out with slower shutter speed, which does cause blur and forget in flight photos. I had about a 30% keeper rate, where my old set up was more like 90%. I need to decide which is more important to  me, perched birds or birds in flight, I can’t have both with this camera, its too hard to change settings on the fly.
