2017 was a turning point year. I enjoyed taking photos so much I started doing it more and more with less fishing. I am just grabbing the best I see and I have a lot more I haven’t posted, so I will come back some day and sort, edit and post more. In 2017 I was using my Canon 7d with a 100-400 lens. I had 2 of these, one for landscape and fish photos.
I did good in Nelson slough in spite of new owners bulldozing parts causing the Eagles to start a new nest and move out, but that could have been the commercial fisherman who was running gill nets bank to bank in the whole slough, including in front of eagle’s nest. That slough, also called flauks slough, was a beautiful place, but the new owners are turning it into some kind of hunting lodge with hunting blinds all over.
In 2017 I had so many scenic photos I separated them into 3 pages and 2 pages of Eagles. I got photos of eagles bring fish back to the nest a few times. I watched these chicks grow up and fledge. The eagles were friendly at that low nest that was close to shore. I was surprised to find a family of Otter in there, and a Nigh Heron and other surprises.
