April 2022 see Barred Owl, Woodies, Deer, Belted Kingfisher, Red-tail Hawk Nest, a Coot, Hawks, Pelicans, Mink and deer along the Rock River in Illinois near Sterling Rock falls Illinois.
April 2022 I saw a Barred Owl along the Rock River and it was there for a few times when I was in the area. Lots of Wood ducks around. Red-tailed hawk was hoovering around as they migrated up. I got a few Belted Kingfisher shots, a Deer, Bald Eagle is a given, Pelican, Coot, Red Tailed Hawk Nest action and a Mink. Lots of cold windy cloudy days so didn’t get out much. I was using my canon 7dII with a ef 100-400 mm lens.
I was thrilled to see the Barred Owl. Owls are pretty rare around this area. I think the Bald Eagles run them out as there was 2 Eagle nests near by at the time.
