Rock River Habitat Collapse

Landowners are letting an out of state logging company destroy the area. Some logger from Iowa bought the largest island on the Rock River where I drift and today I got zero photos again.

I found out why, they started logging the big island down past the mill. This will take years and it is a major hub for wildlife. All wildlife, including eagles, will be displaced. There may never be winter eagles again at Rock Falls. If it’s the same outfit that logged land just down river a ways, they leave it in such a mess, even wildlife can’t get through it.

This is a major change for the area and it can never be the same. They won’t stop at that island, they will continue doing every island they can.
